meant by dimensioning?
2. Explain
the term ’conics’.
3. The top
view or plan of the solid is obtained in.

PART – B (5
x 12 = 60)
Answer All the Questions
11. Inscribe an ellipse inside a rectangle 140 mm x 65 mm.
(or)
12. Construct a hyperbola
when its double ordinate is 110 mm and abscissa is 50 mm and half the
transverse axis is 60 mm.
13. Draw hypocycloid of a circle 50 mm diameter which rolls inside
of another circle of 150 mm diameter for one revolution. Draw tangent and
normal for any point on the curve.
(or)
14. Draw an epicycloid of a circle 60 mm diameter which rolls
outside of another circle of 180 mm diameter for one revolution. Draw tangent
and normal for any point on the curve.
15. One end A of a line AB 80 mm long is 35 mm in front of VP and 25
mm above HP .The line is inclined at 40° to the HP and 30° to the VP. Draw the
projections of AB.
(or)
16. Draw the projection of a circular lamina of diameter 30mm
resting on a point of the circumference on HP such that the lamina is inclined
at 30o to HP and perpendicular to VP.
17. A hexagonal pyramid of
base side 35 mm and height 70 mm is
resting on one of its base edges on HP so that its axis is
inclined at 45° to HP and parallel to VP. Draw its projections. 2. A cube
40 mm edge is placed with one face parallel to the VP and 20 mm away from it.
It is resting on its base edge so that one face is inclined at 50° to the HP.
Draw its projections.
(or)
18. Draw the projections of
a cone of base diameter 35 mm and axis length 70 mm when it lies on one of its
generators with the axis parallel to VP.
19. A cone is resting on its
base on H.P. Section plane perpendicular
to HP and inclined at 40° to VP, cuts the cone at a distance of 5 mm from the
axis and in front of it. Draw its top view, sectional front view and true shape
of the section.
(or)
20. A sphere of 60 mm
diameter is resting on HP. A cutting plane perpendicular to VP and 45° to HP
cuts the sphere 15 mm away from its
centre. Draw sectional view and true shape of the section.
