1.     What do you mean by marshalling?

2.     What are the middleware technologies that use IDL for defining the interfaces?

3.     What is the difference between a factory and a factory finder?

4.     Can a process be both a server and a client? Give reason.

5.     What is POA? How is it different from BOA?

6.     What are the necessary fields that are required for interface specification?

7.     Why is DOM dependent on Microsoft technology?

8.     What are the difficulties of object clustering?

9.     Differentiate COM and DCOM.

10.   What are the three rules we have to know, to use reference counting?

11.   (a) Write a program for arithmetic calculator using EJB application.                                                                         (8)

12.   (a) Describe the architecture used for implementing component based system and summarize the implementation issues.       (10)
(b) What is remote reference? Explain its use in Component Based Technology.                                                                    (2)
       
13.   (a) Explain the issues associated with the implementation of garbage collection in the client and server systems.
(b) What is concurrency in server object? How is it achieved in distributed object base systems?
(or)
14.   (a) What is event driven programming? Explain its role in distributed systems.
(b) Explain the role of Remote Procedure Servers in Remote Procedure Calls.

15.   Write a java programming with CORBA naming Service to implement the following criteria:
A client sent a name and five subject marks to the server, server returns the message fail or pass status to the client. IF all the marks are greater than 50 then “PASS” else “FAIL”. For example, the client passes “Ram 56, 76, 89, 90, and 79”, the server replies as “Ram you, pass your examinations”.

16.   Write a Java ORB application for Airline booking with the criteria as the client should be able to know the availables seats, cost and details of various flights.

17.   (a) Explain the query processing mechanisms in distributed object.                                                                                    (6)
(b) What is persistent object? How is it achieved in java?    (2)
(c) Write notes on object migration.                                      (4)

18.   Draw a model for locating objects with the details of how a server publishes objects and how clients look up objects.

19.   Explain about the details of class factory.

20.   Describe the factors to be considered in COM for creating interfaces, their characteristics and basic types.
