1.     Define wireframe and surface model.     

2.     Differentiate CSG and B-rep.

3.     Define rotation. Give the importance of pivot point.

4.     What do you understand by concatenation?

5.     Write the limitations of feature technology in CAD.

6.     In your view, what are the two most-vital reasons the CAD data exchange standards have been developed?

7.     Write the shape function for 1D, 2 noded linear bar element.

8.     Are nodal point and Node distinct? Justify each if distinct?

9.     Write the functions of Preprocessor.

10.   List the Hardware requirements of Pre and Post processor.

        (b) What are the hardware requirements of a CAD workstation? Explain. 

13.   What is transformation of geometry? With suitable figure and matrix discuss following transformation:
(i) Scaling       (ii) Reflection                 (iii) Rotation

14.   Explain the three types of coordinate systems used to input, store and display model geometry and graphics.

15.   Explain the salient features of any two modeling package that are being currently used in the aircraft industry. Which factors influence the selection of a particular package?

16.   How feature technology is being initiated in a CAD system? Explain about the classification of features and its design. State its applications in aircraft structures.

17.   Derive an expression for stiffness matrix of one dimensional truss element.
