(a) After drinking tea, later discovered to have contained arsenic, three night watchmen had started vomiting and attended the Hospital. The nurse telephoned the doctor who told her to tell them to go to home and call their own doctors as he was tired and unwell. He did not attend to the night watchmen, who died hours later from arsenic poisoning. Is the doctor guilty of medical negligence ? Decide with reasons.
(b) A famous singer was photographed leaving a meeting of Narcotics secretly. A newspaper published the photographs accompanied by an article praising the singer’s battle with drug addiction and giving details about the treatment. The singer sued for breach of confidence. Will he succeed ?

(c) Mr. and Mrs. ‘A’ and Mr. and Mrs. ‘B’ both attended an assisted conception clinic to receive infertility treatment. For both couples the intention was to use the eggs of the wife and inject into them the sperm of the husband. Due to a mistake Mrs. A’s eggs were mixed with Mr. B’s sperm.
The resulting embryo was placed in Mrs. A and healthy twins born. The mix up with the sperm came to light because Mr. A and Mrs. A were white, while Mr. and Mrs. B were black. DNA tests confirmed the same. Who is the legal father of the child ? Decide with reasons.
