AND THE LAW OF WAGES

Q.1) “Wage Policy should be an integral part of planning for economic
development.” Comment and discuss importance and essentials of a National
Wage Policy and also refer recommendations of the National Commission
on Labour.
Q.2) “The object of the Payment of Wages Act, 1936 is to regulate Payment
of Wages to certain classes of persons engaged in Industry.”
Elucidate this statement with the help of landmark decided decisions.
Q.3) “The Passing of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 is a landmark in the History
of Labour Legislation in India. The provisions of the Act are intended to
achieve socio-economic justice for the employees employed in the scheduled
employment.”
Critically examine this statement in the light of Supreme Court decisions.
Q.4) “The Authority Constituted under Section 20 of the Minimum Wages Act,
1948 is invested with the power to hear and decide all claims arising out
