(ii) Answer any four questions from Section II. Each question carries 10 marks.

(iii) Write any four notes from Section III. Each note carries 5 marks.

SECTION I

Answer any two of the following questions in about 600 words each. 2x20=40

1. Write an essay on the relationship between Civil and Political Rights and the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

2. Discuss the basic features of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.

3. Write an essay on the Vienna Declaration.

4. What functions do the Non-Governmental Organisations perform in promotion and protection of human rights ? Examine.

SECTION II

Answer any four of the following questions in about 300 words each. 4x10=40

5. Describe the relationship between Human Rights and Natural Rights.

6. Write a note on internal self-determination.

7. Describe the main features of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

8. What do you understand by generation of rights ? Explain.

9. Write a note on the European Court of Human Rights.

10. What do you understand by the East-Asian challenge to the idea of universality of Human Rights ?

11. What obligations do States have on extradition and prosecution of terrorists ?

12. Write a note on World Food Summit, Rome 1996.

SECTION III

Write short notes on any four of the following in about 150 words each. 4x5=20
